After a full day of art galleries and a famous temple, we headed over to Lujiazui, Shanghai's central business district around sunset. It was bright and fun and big, and we loved it. This area is home to the one and only pearl tower...
Apparently, when Shanghai was planning the city, they looked at other cities like New York. They saw that New York's business district becomes a ghost town at night, since everyone works 9-5. To combat this, they decided to add shopping and restaurants to make it a nighttime destination as well. In addition, they decided to add lights to all skyscrapers, making it one of the brightest and most interesting skylines in the world (you'll see pics of the skyline when we go to the Bund on the other side of the river).
