Springtime in the City

It hit 80 degrees yesterday, and high 70's today. I love right now. :)

Are these tulips?
I've been eating lunch at Madison Square Park the last few days because it's been so nice out. And because the park is super pretty right now.

And they just installed a huge sculpture, called Echo:

They tell me it'll be finished tomorrow and look even better, but I didn't want to wait to post it. Plus I wanted to write about it on my other blog. It's surprisingly serene. I ate my lunch directly in front of her today, and her calm demeanor really made the park feel even more peaceful than normal. Go Jaume Plensa for sculpting that.

In other news, Isa finished her paper and is moving ever so closer to the end of the semester and free time. We're exactly three weeks away from Las Vegas. We ate nachos tonight. And Heritage Field has grass on it!!!!

Can I tell you how badly that makes me want to play baseball?!

Play Ball!!!

Tomorrow officially starts Yankee season. Err, baseball season. There are technically six games tomorrow, but do you honestly know who is playing besides the Yankees? I didn't think so. Isa's not even a huge baseball fan, but she came home today and told me how excited she was as she walked by them setting up the tents outside the Stadium.

I'll be working all day, and since the game's at 1:05, the entire crowd will be gone by the time I come home, but it's still exciting!!

If you haven't been by the Stadium in a while, or seen what they're doing across the street where Old Yankee Stadium stood and Heritage Field is now taking shape, watch the video below. It contains pictures and video over the past year of the Stadium demolition and the creation of Heritage Field, with my thoughts about the whole thing too.

Let me know what you think.

Yankee Stadium Demolition

Most of you know that I live in the Bronx, and I walk by Yankee Stadium every day. Over the last few months, they've been demolishing the Stadium piece by piece. I made a video of the first half of the demolition, and I thought you might like to see what's going on here in the Bronx.
